Mountainview Colts fall 5-4 in overtime

Didsbury-based team plays the Flyers in High River on Friday

DIDSBURY - The Mountainview Colts fell 5-4 in overtime against the Coaldale Copperheads at the Memorial Complex on Saturday.

The loss was the team’s second of the 2023-24 season, with the team’s current record of 3-1-1.

The Colts got goals from Kai Biggin (Haiden Parks assist), Jay Heistad (assist Simon Leischner), Paton Rothenbusch (assist Steven Bell and Parks) and Parks (assist Steven Bell).

Copperheads’ Peyton Twigg got the overtime winner.

Colts netminder Kyle Allan stopped 27 of 32 shots.

Parks now leads the team with 10 points, followed by Bell with nine.

The Colts play the Flyers in High River on Friday, followed by a Saturday matchup against the Stampeders in Ponoka.

The team is back home at the Memorial Complex against the Sylvan Lake Wranglers on Oct. 27
