Mountain View Colts on five-game winning streak after win over Airdrie

DIDSBURY - The Mountain View Colts extended their winning streak to five games with a 4-3 overtime win against the Airdrie Thunder on Friday night.

Playing at the Ron Ebbesen Arena in Airdrie, the Colts got goals from Aidan Saunders (assist Ryley Lodermeier), Jay Heistad (assists Treydon Brien and Carter Hewitt), Jordan Saunders, and the overtime winner by Steven Bell (assists Paton Rothenbusch and Hayden Sotheran).

Colts first-string netminder Chance Griffith got the win, stopping 42 of 45 shots for his 14th win of the 2022-23 Heritiage Junior B Hockey League season.

The Colts are back in action on Jan. 6 in Rocky Mountain House, followed by a home game against Airdrie on Jan. 7.

The Colts currently have 17 wins, eight losses, and one overtime loss for 35 points, good for a first place tie with Sylvan Lake.
