Mountain View Colts outscore opponents 8-3 in weekend games

Next game for Didsbury-based team is Dec. 30 in Airdrie while next home game Jan. 7

DIDSBURY - The Mountain View Colts won two games in Heritage Junior B Hockey League action over the weekend, outscoring their opponents 8-3.

The Colts hosted the Three Hills Thrashers at the Didsbury Memorial Complex on Friday, coming away with a 6-2 win.

Goals came from Aidan Saunders (assists Carter Layden and Jordan Saunders), Saunders (assists Trey Stovin and Nate McNeely), Corson Waiting (assist Haiden Parks), Logan Richards (assists Corbin Rae and Ryley Lodermeier), Paton Rothenbusch (assists Hayden Sotheran and Steven Bell), and Jordan Saunders (assists Aidan Saunders and Rothenbusch).

Colts goalie Chance Griffith stopped 34 of 36 shots for the win.

The Colts travelled to Red Deer on Saturday to take on the Vipers, coming away with a 2-1 win.

The local got goals from Jordan Saunders (assists Logan Richards and McNeely) and Carter Hewitt (assists Jay Heistad and Simon Leischner).

Netminder Griffith stopped 45 of 46 shots for his second win in two nights. His goals against average this season now stands at an outstanding .978 per cent.

The Colts are back in action Dec. 30 in Airdrie against the Techmation Thunder, followed by a Jan. 6 game in Rocky Mountain House against the Rams.

The team is back at home at the Memorial Complex on Jan. 7 against Airdrie.
