DIDSBURY - The Mountain View Colts are in second place in the Heritage Junior B Hockey League’s north division with 16 points, two behind Sylvan Lake going into this weekend.
The Colts are in Sylvan Lake on Friday and Strathmore on Saturday. The squad is back home at the Memorial Complex on Nov. 11 against Cochrane and against High River on Nov. 12.
The Colts won two games at home last weekend, improving the team’s 2022-23 season record to eight wins and three losses.
On the Friday night, the Colts hosted the Red Deer Vipers, coming away with a 2-1win.
The Colts got goals from Jordan Saunders (assist Haiden Park) and Trey Stovin (assists Carter Layden and Aidan Saunders).
Netminder Chance Griffith got the win, stopping 54 of 55 shots.
The Colts returned to the Didsbury Memorial Complex on the Saturday to host the Three Hills Thrashers.
The Colts came away with a 5-1 win, getting goals from Hayden Sotheran (assists Ryan Bauer and Steven Bell), Bell (assists Sotheran and Paton Rothenbusch) Southern (assists Rothenbusch and Bell), Logan Richards (assists Corbin Rae and Corson Waiting), and Stovin (assist Rothenbusch).
Netminder Griffith got the win, stopping 25 of 26 shots.
