DIDSBURY - The Mountain View Colts won two games over the weekend to start off the 2022-23 season in winning fashion.
Forward Steven Bell held the Colts with seven goals over the two games.
On Friday the team faced off against the Airdrie Techmation Thunder at the Ron Ebbeson Arena in Airdrie.
The Colts got goals from Bell (unassisted) and Hayden Sotheran (unassisted) for a 2-1 win.
The Colts had 37 shots, while the Thunder managed 40. Colts netminder Shayne Price got the win.
On Sunday the Colts travelled to Ponoka. The Colts scored 23 goals against the Ponoka Stampeders, who managed only one goal.
The Colts got goals from Treydon Brien (2), Hayden Sotheran (3), Steven Bell (6), Paton Rothenbusch (3), Carter Layden (3), Haiden Parks (2), and singles from Carter Hewitt, Trey Stovin, Jordan Saunders, and Corson Waiting.
Netminder Shayne Price got the win for the Colts.
The Colts went 2-2 in the Heritage Junior B Hockey League pre-season action, with wins over Three Hills and two losses against Airdrie.
The Colt are at home on Friday against the Strathmore Wheatland Kings. That game starts at 8 p.m. at the Didsbury Memorial Complex.
