Mountainview Colts drop two on the road

DIDSBURY - The Mountainview Colts’ six-game winning streak came to an end over the weekend, with the locals dropping road games to Strathmore and Rocky Mountain House.

The Colts visited the Strathmore Family Centre arena on Friday for a matchup against the Agra Risk Wheatland Kings.

The Colts got goals from Rhett Miller (assist Cohen Richardson), Aidan Saunders (assists Richardson and Zachary Wheatley) and Jager Hanson (unassisted) in a 3-8 loss.

Colts netminders Kyle Allan and Jordan McGinnis each allowed four goals, facing a total of 36 shots.

On Saturday the Colts visited Rocky Mountain House to face off against the Rams.

The Colts got goals from Ryder Hammer (assists Miller and Konnor Poitras), Poitras (assist Saunders) and Richardson (assists Poitras and Saunders) in a 4-3 overtime loss.

Colts netminder McGinnis stopped 18 of 22 shots he faced.

The Colts next game action is in High River on Jan. 3.
