DIDSBURY - Extremely cold weather in the district has forced the cancellation of Mountainview Colts home games scheduled for Friday and Saturday at the Didsbury Memorial Complex, says head coach Dan Visser.
The Colts were supposed to face off against the Three Hills Thrashers on Friday, followed by another home game against Red Deer Vipers on Saturday.
The games will be rescheduled for later in the season, he said.
According to Environment Canada temperatures will continue to fall through the weekend. Saturday morning and Sunday morning will be the coldest, with temperatures ranging from -40 C to -48C, and wind chill values near -55C. Wind chills could even be a bit colder in open and exposed areas.
