DIDSBURY - The Mountainview Colts play host to the Coaldale Copperheads on Friday, followed by an away game against the Carstar Okotoks Bisons on Saturday.
The Colts are currently in fourth place in the Heritage Junior B Hockey League’s north division with 14 points; the Wranglers are in first with a 16-1 record and 32 points.
The team split two weekend games, winning on the road and losing at home.
The Colts travelled to Ponoka on Friday to take on the Stampeders at the Ponoka Culture and Recreation Complex.
The Colts got goals from Sager Hanson (assists Ryder Hammer and Aidan Saunders), Konnor Poitras (assist Kai Biggin), Treydon Brien (assist Hammer), Poitras, Saunders (assist Hammer and Zachary Wheatley), Tanner Austin (assist Wheatley) and Poitras for a 7-1 win.
Colts netminder Nicholas Smith stopped 14 of 15 shots for the win. The Colts managed 46 shots during the match.
The Colts hosted the Sylvan Lake Wranglers at the Didsbury Memorial Complex on Saturday.
The locals managed only one goal, by Poitras (assist Corbin Rae and Austin) in the 4-1 Sylvan win.
