Mountainview Colts in fifth place going into weekend play

DIDSBURY - The Mountainview Colts are on the road Friday night and at home Saturday.

The Didsbury-based Heritage Junior B Hockey League team travels to Ponoka on Friday, Nov. 15 to take on the Stampeders at the Ponoka Culture and Recreation Complex, before hosting the Wranglers at the Didsbury Memorial Complex on Saturday, Nov. 16 starting at 8 p.m.

For the first time in the 2024-25 Heritage Junior B Hockey League season, the Mountainview Colts have been held scoreless in a game.

The Colts played the Wranglers in Sylvan Lake last Saturday and despite getting 37 shots on net came up empty. Sylvan won 4-0.

Colts netminder Nicholas Smith did manage to stop 30 of 34 shots he faced.

The Colts are now sporting a 6-9 record for 12 points. The team is in fifth place in the league’s north division, with the Wranglers holding first spot with an impressive 14-1 record and 28 points.
