Mountainview Colts in first place with two more wins

Didsbury-based team is in first place in the Heritage Junior B Hockey League north division

DIDSBURY - The Mountainview Colts defeated the Coaldale Copperhead on Saturday and Three Hills Thrashers the night before to improve the team’s 2023-24 regular season record to three wins and one loss.

The Colts are in first place in the Heritage Junior B Hockey League north division.

Played at the Coaldale Sportsplex, Saturday’s game saw the Colts get goals from Cohen Richardson (assists Haiden Parks and Wyatt Bailey), Parks (assists Bailey and Emmett Barnett) and another by Parks (assists Cohen Richardson and Steven Bell). 

Colts netminder Kyle Allen stopped 20 of 21 shots for the win.

Bell and Parks now each have seven points to lead the team.

On Friday night the Colts defeated the Thrashers in Three Hills by a 3-2 score.

Played at the Centennial Place Arena, the games saw Colts get goals from Richardson (assist Simon Leischner), Zane Labbe (assist Jay Heisted), and Bailey (assist Bell).

Colts netminder Jordan McGinnis stopped 35 of 37 shots for the win.

The Colts are home in the Memorial Arena against the Copperheads on Saturday night.
