Mountainview Colts in Sylvan Saturday after splitting weekend games

DIDSBURY - The Mountainview Colts are back on the road Saturday in Sylvan Lake for a match against the Wranglers.

The Didsbury-based team split two games on the road last weekend, defeating Coaldale on Saturday and falling to Medicine Hat in an afternoon game Sunday.

The Colts took on the Coaldale Copperheads at the Coaldale Sportsplex in a cross division game in the Heritage Junior B Hockey League.

The Colts goals from Ryder Hammer (assists Haiden Parks and Kai Biggin), Corbin Rae, Zachary Wheatley (assist Cole Howard), Hammer (assists Hunter Sellers and Parks), Hammer (assists Howard and Parks), Simon Leischner and Rae for a 7-3 win.

Colts netminder Nicholas Smith stopped 25 of 28 shots for the win. The Colts managed 34 shots.

On Sunday the Colts took on the Medicine Hat Cubs at the Kinplex in Medicine Hat.

The Colts got goals from Leischner and Konnor Poitras (assists Aidan Saunders and Cohen Richardson) in the 7-2 loss.

Colts netminder Kyle Allan stopped 30 of 37 shots. The Colts outshot the Cubs with 47 shots.

The team then has an away game in Ponoka on Nov. 15, followed by a home match at Didsbury Memorial Complex against the Wranglers on Nov. 16.
