DIDSBURY - The Mountainview Colts kick off the 2023-24 regular season on Friday with a home match against the Cannex Cochrane Generals in the Memorial Complex, followed by a second home game against the Three Hills Thrashers on Saturday.
The Colts wrapped up the four-game preseason with an exhibition game in Sylvan Lake against the Wranglers on Sept. 17.
The pre-season also included a second game against the Wranglers and two against the Airdrie Techmation Thunder, with the Colts ending with a 1-3 record.
“We are going to do some fine tuning this week to be ready for the regular season,” said Dan Visser, in his second season as Colts bench boss. “We have a young team and I found we played well and played hard (in the pre-season). The simple mental mistakes we made in pre-season turned into goal are just a sign of being young.
“We will work on that and get better. I’m excited to see what these player can do this season. They will also be fun to watch this year.”
The Colts play in the north division of the Heritage Junior B Hockey League.
