DIDSBURY - The Mountainview Colts faces off against the Rocky Mountain House Rams at the Didsbury Memorial Complex on Saturday in the first game of the first-round playoffs.
The best-of-five series continues with Game 2 in Rocky on Sunday and Game 3 in Didsbury on Wednesday.
Head coach Dan Visser says the Colts are well prepared for the matchup against their northern rivals, “as long as the boys play their game, play a full 60 minutes.”
Team top scorer Haiden Parks also says the Colts looking good going into playoffs.
“I’m excited about the playoffs,” he said. “We’ve got a good team and some great guys and if we all show up, I think we have a shot at making it all the way.”
If necessary, Game 4 will be played in Rocky on Mar. 1 and Game 5 in Didsbury on March 2.
Didsbury finished one point ahead of Rocky for second place in the Heritage Junior B Hockey League north division.
The Colts finished the regular season with a 17-15-6 record. In six games again the Rams in the regular seasons, the Colts won 5.
The Sylvan Lake Wranglers finished first and faces off against the Three Hills Thrashers in the other north division first round.
