Mountainview Colts split weekend games against Sylvan Lake, Airdrie

The Colts are currently in sixth place in the Heritage Junior B Hockey League north division with a 2-6 record, one point behind the Three Hills Thrashers.

DIDSBURY - The Mountainview Colts split two home games over the weekend, falling to Sylvan Lake and then beating Airdrie at the Didsbury Memorial Arena.

On Friday, the Colts got goals from Simon Leischner (assists Zane Labbe and Corbin Rae), Cohen Richardson (assists Haiden Parks and Konnor Poitras), and Richardson (assists Hunter Sellers and Zachary Wheatley). 

Colts netminder Jordan McGinnis stopped 32 of 40 shots, with the Wranglers taking the win by an 8-3 score.

On Saturday, the Colts beat the Thunder, getting goals from Richardson (assists Leischner and Rae), Tanner Austin (assists Rae and Leischner), Poitras (assists Aidan Saunders and Parks), Austin (assists Leischner and Rae), Parks (assists Poitras and Saunders) and Mitchell McDermid (assist Ryder Hammer).

Colts netminder Kyle Allan stopped 17 of 19 shots and Grayden Barr stopped all five shots he faced, with the Colts winning 6-2.

The Colts are currently in sixth place in the Heritage Junior B Hockey League north division with a 2-6 record, one point behind the Three Hills Thrashers.

Colts host the Three Hills Thrashers on Friday, Oct. 18, before heading to Three Hills for a match at the Centennial Place Arena on Saturday, Oct. 19.
