Mountainview Colts take on Sylvan Lake Friday, Airdrie Saturday

Didsbury-based team is currently in sixth place in the Heritage Junior B Hockey League's northern division

DIDSBURY - The Mountainvew Colts host the Sylvan Lake Wranglers on Friday and the Airdrie Techmation Thunder on Saturday at the Didsbury Memorial Complex.

Both games are 8 p.m.

The team is looking for a win after faccing off against two Heritage Junior B Hockey League north division rivals last weekend, coming up short at home and on the road.

On Friday, Oct. 4, the Colts hosted the Carstar Okotoks Bisons at the Didsbury Memorial Arena.

The locals got goals from Corbin Rae (assists Konnor Poitras and Cole Howard), Poitras (assists Cohen Richardson and Aidan Saunders), Simon Leischner (assists Rae and Zane Labbe) and Richardson.

The Bisons managed seven goals for the 7-4 win. The game saw 25 penalties called.

Colts netminders Kyle Allan stopped 26 of 31 shots, and Jordan McGinnis stopped 17 of 18 shots.

The Colts travelled to the Red Deer Servus Arena on Saturday, Oct. 5 with the Vipers coming away with a 6-0 win.

Colts net minder Grayden Barr stopped six of nine shots, and McGinnis stopped 24 of 27 shots. The game saw 28 penalties called over three periods.

The Colts are currently in sixth place in the HJHL northern division, with Sylvan Lake in first place. Okotoks is in first in the south division.
