Mountainview Colts take on Three Hills Friday after winning weekend

The Didsbury team is in second place in the north division with 34 points while Sylvan Lake is in first with 57 points

DIDSBURY - The Mountainview Colts host the Ponoka Stampeders at the Three Hills Centennial Place Arena on Friday.

The team then travels to Red Deer on Saturday for a game against the Vipers at the Servus Arena.

The Didsbury team is in second place in the north division, with 34 points. Sylvan Lake is in first with 57 points.

The Colts won both the team's last games, beating north division rivals Airdrie and Three Hills on back-to-back nights.

On Friday, Jan. 17 the Colts travelled to the Ron Ebbesen Arena in Airdrie for a match against the Techmation Thunder.

The Colts goals from Treydon Brien (assist Haiden Park and Ryder Hammer), Hammer (assist Cohen Richardson), Brien (assists Hammer and Richardson), Richardson (assists Hammer and Brien), Aidan Saunders (assist Blake Stoddard), and Richardson for a 6-3 win.

Colts netminder Jordan McGinnis stopped 16 of 19 shots for the win. The Colts managed 50 shots in the game.

On Saturday, Jan. 18 the Colts travelled to the Innisfail Twin Arena for a ‘home game’ against the Three Hills Thrashers.

The Colts are playing recent home games at arenas outside Didsbury due to a mechanical problem at the Didsbury Memorial Complex.

The Colts got goals from Sawyer Loree (assists Kai Biggin and Parks), Hammer (assists Zane Labbe and Richardson), and Ryder Hammer (assist Rhett Miller). 

The Colts then got goals from Miller and Hammer in the shoot-out for a 4-3 win.

Colts netminder Nicholas Smith stopped 27 of 30 shots for the win.
