Mountainview Colts win sixth straight game

DIDSBURY - The Mountainview Colts recorded their sixth straight win on Tuesday, defeating the Techmation Thunder in Airdrie.

In a a 7-2 win, the Colts got goals from Ryder Hammer (assists Rhett Miller and Konnor Poitras), Trey Mueller (assists Simon Leischner and Corbin Rae), Leischner (assists Miller and Rae), Hammer (assists Poitras and Cole Irwin), Hammer again, Poitras (assist Miller), Aidan Saunders (assist Poitras), and Irwin (assist Hammer and Cole Howard).

Colts netminder Jordan McGinnis stopped 23 of 25 shots on goal.

The win in Airdrie came after another Colts road win over the weekend in Ponoka.

On Dec. 13 the Colts got goals form Aidan Saunders (assists Cohen Richardson and Zachary Wheatley), Simon Leischner (assists Tanner Austin and Corbin Rae) and Kai Biggin (assist Wheatley) for a 3-2 win.

Colts goalie Nicholas Smith stopped 17 of 19 shots for the win.

The Colts are on the road in Strathmore on Dec. 20 and in Rocky Mountain House on Dec. 21.

The Colts next Heritage Junior B Hockey League home game is at the Didsbury Memorial Complex on Jan. 4 against Medicine Hat.
