DIDSBURY - Town council recently reviewed a letter prepared by mayor Rhonda Hunter in support of the Mountain View Seniors' Housing Foundation’s New Horizons for Seniors Program application.

The foundation is seeking a federal grant in support of the Gathering Garden raised bed gardening initiative.

“With the challenges, isolations, and reduced activity that lodge residents have faced these past 21 months during the pandemic, connection and companionship are vital components for continued good health and well-being of our seniors, and this gardening project is both admired and appreciated in our endorsement,” Hunter wrote in the letter.

“The Gathering Garden will build on what has already realized years of success, and will also continue to be a project for the residents of Mountain View Seniors’ Housing lodges to enjoy, learn, and teach for years to come.”

Council passed a motion approving the letter of support for the foundation’s federal grant application.
