DIDSBURY - Westview Co-op has acquired Grasse Lumber Sales in Didsbury, a move that will hopefully contribute to the long-term viability and success of the multi-community co-op, say officials.
“Westview Co-op has made strategic investments to grow our business over the past several years,” general manager Mike Isaak said in a press release. “We are excited for this opportunity to grow our home and building footprint and contribute to the long-term sustainability of our business.
“Making our investments in our communities and creating value for our members and guests is at the core of who we are as a co-op.”
Grasse Lumber Sales operated in Didsbury for 28 years after being founded by Lowell and Heidi Grasse in 1994.
“Finding a company who shares our values and could keep our business local was important to us,” said Lowell Grasse. “Westview Co-op has been a long-term member of the communities we serve and we’re confident our guests will continue to receive the same great service as we make this transition.”
Isaak said Westview is working with Grasse to “ensure a smooth transition for employees and guests. Grasse Lumber Sales employees will be offered similar employment with the local co-op, which will continue to serve Didsbury and area with construction and building materials.”
The terms of the sale are not being publicly disclosed.
