FREDERICTON — Health officials in New Brunswick are reporting five more deaths attributed to the novel coronavirus.
There have now been 438 COVID-19-related deaths in the province since the start of the pandemic.
The latest report for July 10 to July 16 says there were 22 people hospitalized with the disease — an increase of five from the previous week.
There was one patient in intensive care, down one from the previous week.
People between the ages of 70 and 90 composed the majority of COVID-19 patients in the province's hospitals.
About 57 per cent of the newly reported cases involve the BA.5 variant.
