REGINA — More people in Saskatchewan will be able to book a COVID-19 bivalent booster shot starting Monday.
The province says people aged 70 and up, those in the north and people 50 and older in First Nation and Métis communities will be able to get a booster dose.
It will be available at Saskatchewan Health Authority vaccination clinics and through participating pharmacies.
The province recommended people get the bivalent booster at least four months after their last COVID-19 vaccination.
The bivalent vaccine, which targets both the original strain of the coronavirus and its Omicron variant, was approved by Health Canada earlier this month.
The province says it expects to expand eligibility for the bivalent vaccine next month when more doses arrive in Saskatchewan.
