The Okotoks Oilers open their best-of-five BCHL play-in round playoff series against the Spruce Grove Saints tonight at Okotoks Centennial Arenas.
The 7 p.m. game features the fourth and fifth seeds in the Alberta Division playing for a spot in the semifinals.
The BCHL Alberta Division top three seeds — Brooks, Sherwood Park and Blackfalds — have a bye through the first round.
The winner of the Okotoks-Spruce Grove series moves on to play Brooks with Sherwood Park and Blackfalds locking horns in the other semifinal.
The semifinal and final series are best-of-sevens.
The Rocky Mountain Challenge, featuring the B.C. and Alberta division champions, follows in a best-of-three final hosted by the champion team out of the wild rose province.
