The Carstar Okotoks Bisons have returned serve in the HJHL South Semifinal.
Okotoks bounced back from a rare home loss in its series opener to even the best-of-five Heritage Junior Hockey League second round series at 1-1 with a 4-2 victory on the road Monday night over the High River Brewing Co. Flyers.
Okotoks scored three powerplay goals in the win while firing 41 shots at High River netminder Kashton Payne.
Brayden Kapty, Easton Dean and Jake Snashall scored on the man advantage with Scott Brown adding an even-strength tally in the middle stanza.
Easton Weasel Head and Brendan McKague scored for the Flyers.
Grady Nicholas made 26 saves on 28 shots for his second career playoff win with the Bisons.
High River took the series opener on Saturday night in Okotoks on the strength of a pair of powerplay goals and a shorthanded marker. The result snapped a 12-game playoff win streak for Okotoks and was its first loss at the Murray Arena all season.
The regional rivals get back on the Okotoks ice Tuesday night for Game 3, an 8:15 p.m. puck drop.
In the other HJHL second round series, the Medicine Hat Cubs lead the Coadale Copperheads 2-0, the Rocky Rams are up 2-0 on the Mountainview Colts and the Sylvan Lake Wranglers are ahead of the Airdrie Thunder 1-0.
