A look at Simcoe County Rovers FC, the League1 Ontario champion which takes on Toronto FC in Canadian Championship play Wednesday at BMO Field:

HOME VENUE: J.C. Massie Field at Georgian College in Barrie, Ont.

PERFORMANCE: The club made it to the League1 Ontario semifinals in its 2022 expansion season, ousted 2-1 by eventual champion Vaughan Azzurri, after finishing fifth in the regular season at 13-3-5. Simcoe was runner-up at 15-4-1 last year before blanking Vaughan 3-0 in the semifinals and defeating regular-season leader Scrosoppi FC 4-2 in the Sept. 2 championship game.

ATTENDANCE: Simcoe County draws between 300 and 1,000. Peaked at 1,180 for last year's semifinal against Vaughan.

CLUB: Simcoe currently fields six sides with men's and women's first teams and two reserve sides for each. The first team trains four times a week in the morning.

SOCIAL MEDIA: Simcoe County has some 5,000 followers on Instagram and 1,650 on Twitter, compared to 356,000 and 423,600, respectively, for TFC.
