Death of 26-year-old man assaulted on Halifax waterfront a homicide: police

HALIFAX — The death of a 26-year-old man assaulted in Halifax on the weekend has been ruled a homicide.

HALIFAX — The death of a 26-year-old man assaulted in Halifax on the weekend has been ruled a homicide.

Halifax Regional Police say they found Davelle Rodney Vance Desmond unresponsive on the boardwalk of the city's waterfront on Sunday night after receiving a report of a "disturbance."

Desmond was transported to hospital and later died.

Police say in a news release today that an autopsy by the province's medical examiner confirmed Desmond's death was a homicide.

Police say they continue to investigate and are asking anyone with information or video from the area to contact them.

So far no arrests have been made.
