CAMPBELLVILLE, Ont. — Determination Farm and owner/trainer Gino Toscani both purchased two slots for this year's $1-million Mohawk Million on Monday.
The fourth edition of the race for two-year-old trotters will be held Sept. 23 at Woodbine Mohawk Park. Nine of the 10 slots for the event were available for purchase at $100,000 apiece up to Feb. 15.
All nine slots were sold. The final one will go to the winner of the William Wellwood Memorial on Aug. 26.
Purchasing single slots were: Anthony Lombardi; Courant Inc.; Ecurie CSL; Greg Luther; and Hunterton Farms & Partners.
Slot owners don't have to declare a two-year-old trotter for the race until entry time. Each slot can be sold, traded or subject to lease.
Slot owners were required to pay $50,000 by the Feb. 15 deadline with the remainder due June 1.
Also on the card will be the $850,000 Metro Pace, $600,000 Canadian Trotting Classic, $540,000 Shes A Great Lady and $375,000 Elegantimage.
