REGINA — Two people are dead following a house fire in Regina.

Police say in a news release they were called to a residence on Rae Street shortly after 8:30 a.m. Saturday and found a home engulfed in flames.

They say two residents of the home were outside and appeared to have minor injuries, but they told officers that two adults were still inside.

Police say firefighters and paramedics arrived a short time later.

The firefighters pulled the remaining two residents out of the house, but they were pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation and police say they are working with the city's fire and protective services department and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service.

Regina Fire says in a post on social media that four people in an adjacent house were displaced due to damage to the property.
