INNISFAIL - The Big Brothers Big Sisters of Prairies to Peaks welcomes everyone to join them for the Biggest Christmas Party in Town.

The annual fall fundraiser has a holiday theme this year, and takes place Nov. 25 at the Innisfail Royal Canadian Legion.

“It's our fourth annual fall gala. We decided to put a different spin on it this year and call it the ‘Biggest Christmas Party in Town',” said Sherry Dijkstra, executive director with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Prairies to Peaks.

Dijkstra said they hoped to see local businesses and area residents come out to support the agency and help kick off the holiday season.

Cocktails are at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6:30 p.m. she added, noting there will be plenty of fun and Christmas cheer the entire evening.

“There'll be silent auctions, there will be some raffles, and there's going to be some fun games. There's entertainment by On The Mark Productions, a DJ service,” said Dijkstra. “We're going to do some spot dances and just try to make it a really fun Christmas party.

“We're also asking people to bring an unwrapped gift so we can give them to the Christmas Bureau,” she added.

The fall gala is one of two major annual fundraisers for the local Big Brothers Big Sisters organization.

“We wanted to try to have an economical way for some of the small businesses to have their Christmas parties and celebrate with us at the same time,” said Dijkstra. “It helps a good cause and raises needed funds.”
