OLDS - A Bowden-area man was killed last weekend following a quad rollover near his home.
Olds RCMP Staff Sgt. Jim MacDonald said in a media release that his office was notified of the tragic accident at about 7 p.m. on Sept. 9. He said Olds RCMP then went to the scene located on private property east of Bowden.
MacDonald said it was determined the quad driver, a 62-year-old male, was operating the recreational vehicle in a wooded area of his rural property when it rolled on a small embankment.
He said the driver became trapped under the quad and died of his injuries. MacDonald said alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
He said victim services were called to provide assistance.
The name of the deceased man was not released by RCMP.
No further details of the tragedy will be released by the RCMP, said MacDonald.
