BREAKING: SCAN, RCMP shut down alleged Innisfail drug house Tuesday

Alberta Sheriffs' Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods execute court order March 11 at 4127 - 49A Ave, which has been the subject of numerous complaints over the years

INNISFAIL - The Alberta Sheriffs' Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods (SCAN) unit along with Innisfail RCMP executed a court order in Innisfail Tuesday, shutting down an alleged drug house.

Eleven SCAN investigators as well as RCMP members were at 4127 - 49A Ave. in the town on March 11. 

The house is ordered closed for 90 days, police said.

Work to secure the property by boarding the house up as well erecting perimeter fencing continued into the afternoon.

The property has been the subject of numerous complaints over the years.

The SCAN unit operates under the Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods Act, which uses legal sanctions and court orders to hold owners accountable for illegal activity happening on their property.
