INNISFAIL – Mother Nature’s winter wrath has claimed one of its first event casualties in town.
The Cottonwood Kayak Club’s annual canoe polo tournament scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 13 at the Innisfail Aquatic Centre has been cancelled.
The plan for the weekend was to have a youth mini tournament on Friday night (Jan. 12), with registration at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning along with a short slalom course as polo teams are created.
The plan was to have the polo tournament run from 11:30 a.m. until about 6:30 p.m.
In an email, a club spokesperson said a new date for the tournament will soon be chosen.
