This Thursday should be a busy night at the Penhold Multiplex, anticipates Jade Prefontaine, community events coordinator for the town.
“We have the ability to fill most of the facility upstairs and downstairs and into the hallways — I’d say about 40 tables or more,” said Prefontaine of hosting the community information night Sept. 8.
The annual event, which brought in about 40 community service groups last year, is aimed at providing information to the community about resources and programs available in Penhold.
“It’s really widespread as far as who is able to come and who will be there. We are going to have face-painting and a balloonist and the local librarian is doing the craft table so there’ll be a little bit for the kids as well,” she said.
Groups that have registered so far include FCSS, Neighborhood Place, the Boys and Girls Club and the Pregnancy Care Centre.
Tables are still available to local user groups for $20.
The event runs from 4 to 7 p.m. Door prizes and draws will also be taking place.
“We had quite a successful turnout last year,” said Prefontaine. “We are trying to build on the same.”
