INNISFAIL – Making a positive difference in the town has earned the Fox & Hound Sports Bar/Mulligan's Pizza the Business Contribution Award this year at the 2016 Community and Business Awards Gala.

"This is our second time winning this award. It feel's great," said Rob Gette. "It means we're still contributing."

Being a part of the Innisfail community is one big reason why the local business has stayed in business for 26 years, he noted.

"It's a real partnership for the two of us," said Gette of his wife and co-owner Kim. "I like my job; it's a great way to meet people."

The popular sports bar has contributed to a variety of causes, including helping community groups and local service clubs.

The couple, which has owned and operated the business since 1990, has also made a huge difference and repeated contributions to minor sports associations, and adult sports groups such as the Innisfail Eagles and Innisfail Merchants. They have also hosted numerous fundraisers to assist people in need, including those whose lives were turned upside down last May during the Fort McMurray wildfire.

"It's important that the town notices that we really love this town and care about this town," said Gette. "Whether it is playgrounds or fundraisers or anything that I do. I get a reward (doing it) and that's probably enough, that I'm happy doing it."
