An Innisfail man, along with a Red Deer County male, are facing drug charges after being busted in the parking lot of a local fast food restaurant.
Innisfail RCMP Sgt. Lori Eiler said Mounties entered into an investigation on April 20 in the restaurant parking lot just after 7 p.m.
While on patrol, RCMP police officers observed suspicious activity in the parking lot and after a short investigation two adults were taken into custody for trafficking illegal drugs, said Eiler.
The investigation continued and a search warrant was later executed on a local residence and a vehicle.
Eiler said a quantity of marijuana, cocaine, Canadian currency and drug trafficking paraphernalia were seized.
A 28-year-old Innisfail man is facing charges of drug trafficking, possession for the purpose of trafficking, cocaine possession and possession of proceeds of crime.
As well, a 23-year-old Red Deer County man is charged with possession of marijuana. He has released to appear in Red Deer provincial court at a later date.
The Innisfail man was initially held in custody, pending the results of a later bail hearing.
