Community services advisory board forms
Council passed a community service bylaw Monday night, amalgamating both FCSS and Neighbourhood Place advisory committees into one.
The reason behind the decision to bring them together is so they can work together on family social and cultural services and events.
The board will consist of seven members representing different organizations in town, two councillors and citizens at large. Part of the board's responsibilities will include advising council on the town's community services needs and to streamline community services activities and programming.
"This will create efficiencies and better flow of information," said Bennindyk of the amalgamation.
Council start times change
During an organizational meeting Oct. 24 council agreed to change the start time of council meeting to 6:00 p.m., a half hour earlier than previous.
As well, council meetings were set on the second and fourth Monday of each month with meetings capped at 10:30 p.m.
