INNISFAIL – Get ready for some frightful but delightful Halloween fun.

It’s time for Halloween at the Innisfail and District Historical Village on Oct. 20 and 21 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Village board president Anna Lenters and staff have been busy preparing for the annual Halloween at the Village event, now in its fourth year.

This year’s theme is Aliens, Pirates & Monsters Oh My!

“Each structure is decorated differently and is themed differently,” she said, noting such props as swords, skeletons, a pirate bar and card table in one building. “There’ll be aliens, witches and a fortune teller.

“We are very lucky to have special guests this year,” said Lenters. “Those are the Red Deer Stags who are medieval re-enactors who are coming down from Red Deer for the event.

“They’ll be out on the grounds,” she added. “They’re medieval re-enactors so they’ll joust and fight.”

In addition, there will be fairies teaching crafts to children in the village's  Tea Room.

There will also be a few treats handed out to children, said Lenters, adding that more goodies will be available for purchase in the Tea Room, including hot chocolate, coffee, pie and cupcakes.

Lenters noted the family-oriented event is about enjoying the experience.

“It’s about having fun. It’s a family event,” said Lenters. “Bring grandma and grandpa; they’ll have fun too.”

Tickets are $5 per person or $15 per family and are available at the historical village by calling 403- 227-2906.
