This year's graduation committee at Innisfail Jr./Sr. High School is in motion organizing its annual Spaghetti Supper for Prom 2013 on Feb. 13 at the legion.
The committee has set a budget for $23,000 for the June 1 prom. The money will go to cover rental costs at the arena, decorations and entertainment. Members hope the Feb. 13 event at the legion will help meet that target.
ìThey (prom committee) have done this every year and the majority of money is raised from this,î said Willie Mulligan, co-president of the 12-member graduation committee who is also a graduating student.
He said the committee has 300 tickets to sell for the Feb. 13 event. The tickets sell for $20. each. They can be purchased at the Greyhound office located in the Century Theatre building.
ìAnybody who wants to buy tickets can come,î said Mulligan.
He said ticket holders can come to the legion at 5:30 p.m. for cocktails, have supper at 6 p.m. and then participate in both the silent and live auctions, the latter featuring students to be sold to do four hours of work for anyone having a winning bid. The evening will also see entertainment by Calgary hypnotist Clint Worke.
Mulligan said the committee is currently asking various businesses in town to contribute items for the silent auction.
