INNISFAIL – RCMP are still on the hunt for two masked robbers who brazenly fired gunshots inside the Fox & Hound sports bar during a late evening heist.

At about 11:05 p.m. on Oct. 5 Innisfail RCMP responded to a complaint of an armed robbery at the popular local bar.

Innisfail RCMP Staff Sgt. Chris Matechuk said two masked males wearing oil patch-style coveralls entered the pub armed with sawed-off, barrelled- type weapons and demanded cash.

Matechuk said both males fired their weapons into the floor and an altercation ensued with a patron.

"He (patron) attempted to subdue the robbers. He wasn't seriously hurt or hospitalized," said Matechuk, adding the man did sustain minor injuries.

Matechuk said both bandits were able to escape the scene and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash in a white SUV-type vehicle driven by a female.

Matechuk said on Oct. 11 RCMP is still investigating the robbery and the culprits were still on the loose.
