INNISFAIL – A pair of disguised criminals were foiled in their home invasion attack when the victim's mother intervened.
The home invaders fled the scene but Innisfail RCMP are continuing their hunt for the culprits
At about 1 a.m. on Nov. 23, Innisfail RCMP received a report of a home invasion at a residence on 37A Street.
When Mounties attended they found a male victim at the residence with a non-life-threatening head injury, said Innisfail RCMP Sgt. Lori Eiler.
She said the RCMP initial investigation revealed two unknown individuals with covered faces entered the home through an unlocked basement window and assaulted a male occupant of the home.
The victim's mother interrupted the attack and the two unknown males fled the scene in a white truck.
The first suspect is described as being short, with a thin build, pale white skin, wearing a balaclava and all black clothing.
The second suspect is described as wearing a shirt, having a thin build, pale white skin, short dirty blonde hair and wearing a black “rag” on his face, and a ball cap.
Eiler said the RCMP is reassuring the public this incident does not appear to be a random attack.
“There is no safety concern indicated for the general public at this time, said Eiler.
