The Innisfail Indians peewee softball team won silver at a tournament hosted in Innisfail June 15-17.
“The tournament was actually a great success,” said Rick Blais, league liaison. This is the fourth annual softball tournament in Innisfail.
Mite, squirt, peewee and bantam teams came out for the tournament, which was originally supposed to host 35 teams. Blais said four peewee teams and four bantam teams had to be cancelled because of heavy rain on Thursday that meant two diamonds couldn't be used.
“We still ran the tournament with 27 teams,” Blais said.
Blais said the Innisfail mites had one win and three losses. The squirts team had two wins, one loss and one tie. The peewees had three wins and one loss, placing second after the final. The bantam team had two ties and two losses.
