Bow Inn Beef 4-H Club launches fundraiser

Another year is underway for the Bow Inn Beef 4-H Club. Our first meeting was back in October.

We held elections and are looking forward to another fun-filled year.

Congratulations to Marshall Bloomfield and Ethan Christian for being elected president and vice-president respectively. On Nov. 5 we had our weigh-in.

Special thanks to Marshall Feed Lot for allowing us to use its facilities, and to Olds' Tim Hortons for the doughnuts.

Another thanks to Innisfail Veterinary Services for supplying the vaccines for our calves.

Although we've had the weigh-in, members are still free to join until December. Our club offers steer, heifer and carcass projects.

As a fundraiser, our club will be selling ice melter for $20 a pail, which won't hurt pets or wreck lawns.

If you have any questions regarding joining 4-H or buying ice melter, you may contact Leona at 403-227-2954 or me at 403-227-1208.

Knee Hill Valley enters a new and exciting year

The Knee Hill Valley 4-H Beef Club continues into its 68th year and we are looking forward to another great year.

We selected our officers at the Nov. 4 meeting held at the Knee Hill Valley Hall.

The officers are as follows: Molly Severtson, president; Dawson Girard, vice-president; Branden Howard, secretary; Hayley Edgar, treasurer; Zane Lutz-Winter, club reporter; district council representatives Molly Severtson, Tyson Rutherford and Nathan Flewelling; stall display directors Wacey Hollman and Melena Stevens; and club leader, Shawn Howard.

Our calves were weighed on Nov. 5 at Poplar Haven Farms. In August our members were invited by the Innisfail Growers to assist them with the Feast in the Field. This was an awesome event held at the Jungle Farm and was a lot of fun.

Recently, we participated in a community support activity by helping with a machinery display project at Agri-Trade. We enjoyed working with the sponsoring company and the pizza was great.

Noble riders are on the move

We are the Noble Riders Horse 4-H Club located in Innisfail and surrounding area.

This year our club welcomed many new members and is setting lots of goals to be accomplished. Our first meeting was Oct. 3 at the Innisfail Anglican Hall.

We enjoyed our first trail ride together on Oct. 22.. A couple of days later on Oct. 29 we had our first riding lesson at Marshall's indoor arena.

In November we had both western and English lessons and a tire drive. Watch for raffle ticket sales to be held at the Innisfail Co-op Mall on Nov. 19, Dec. 3 and Dec. 17, when the draw will take place.

Thank you to our dedicated leaders, instructors and our enthusiastic members and parents.

It is going to be a great year.
