INNISFAIL – A local food bank recently received proceeds from a fundraiser organized by members of the area's Filipino community.
The Phil-Can Neighbourhood Association presented the donation, a cheque for $4,500, to the Innisfail and District Food Bank on May 14.
The money was raised on May 4 when the association hosted a 10th anniversary party at the Innisfail Royal Canadian Legion Branch #104.
More than 230 association members and Innisfailians each paid $25 to attend the event, which featured a western-themed dance and dinner.
