INNISFAIL – The RCMP is seeking the public’s help to solve a stolen wallet case, an item brazenly taken moments after it was mistakenly left on a gas station counter by the owner.
Innisfail RCMP Const. Jeff Erb said the detachment received the report of the stolen wallet at the Fas Gas station and convenience store on July 26.
He said the victim attended the local business and made a purchase. While doing so, the victim accidentally left their wallet behind, said Erb.
He said video surveillance shows the victim leaving their wallet on the counter after paying for their items. The suspect, who went to the cash register after the victim, is seen taking the victim’s wallet, said Erb.
The police officer said the suspect is described as a male, wearing all black clothing and a black baseball cap. Erb said the suspect also appears to have a mark or tattoo on his left forearm.
If any citizen has information regarding the identity of the suspect, they are asked to contact the Innisfail RCMP at 403-227-3341 or their local police.
