INNISFAIL – For the second year in a row, the Town of Innisfail will fly the Pride flag at the administration building during this month’s two-day Innisfail Pride event.

As well, town council at its regular meeting on June 6 proclaimed June as Pride Month in Innisfail.

Last year, the first ever Pride Day in Innisfail was held on June 26 outside the downtown café, The Coffee Cottage.

Despite the challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, the inaugural one-day event in 2021 was considered a resounding success, attracting the maximum 150 attendees allowed by 2021 provincial COVID-19 restrictions.

This year Innisfail Pride will be a two-day event at and behind The Coffee Cottage on June 25 and 26.

The theme this year is Love is Love.

This year’s Innisfail Pride will begin at 2 p.m. on June 25 with opening remarks and a land acknowledgement from Cree elder Maggie Loney.
