Innisfail RCMP is asking for the public for information following a fire that caused extensive damage to a garage located in the 5000 block of 56 St. earlier this month.
The fire, which was contained to the garage in the back alley behind the home, is thought to have started sometime between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. on June 2.
Hit and Run on 57 Avenue
Innisfail RCMP is investigating a case of hit-and-run involving a parked car on 57 Ave. earlier this month.
According to police, a 2004 Buick Century was struck by another vehicle sometime between 8 p.m. on June 3 and 8 a.m. on June 4. The second vehicle failed to remain at the scene.
Break and enter in Spruce View
Local police are asking for the public’s help to solve a series of break-ins in Spruce View that occurred between June 6 and June 9.
According to Innisfail RCMP, unknown suspects broke into numerous sheds located on residential properties within the hamlet after first prying off the door lock and hasp. Once inside, the suspects damaged property but did not steal any contents.
Arrest in gate hit-and-run
Innisfail RCMP has announced they have laid charges in a hit-and-run incident in Innisfail earlier this month.
The incident, which caused extensive damage to the 250-pound gate, happened sometime between 10 p.m. on June 1 and 5 a.m. on June 2. Acting on an anonymous tip following an investigation, RCMP identified a suspect in the case. The suspect admitted to hitting the gate with his truck and was charged with failing to remain at the scene of an accident and failing to obey a stop sign before entering an intersection.
Sunset Manor theft
Innisfail RCMP is on the lookout for a female suspect following a theft from a residence at Sunset Manor this month.
According to police, the suspect entered a room in the manor around 1 p.m. on June 10 and stole a purse.
She is described as being a Caucasian female between 30 to 40 years of age, with light brown collar length hair and a slim build.
Fuel stolen from rural property
Local police are looking for suspects after a large quantity of fuel was stolen from a rural property on RR 43 earlier this month.
According to Innisfail RCMP unknown persons entered the property sometime between 10 p.m. on June 10 and 8 a.m. on June 11 and stole approximately 379 litres (100 gallons) of fuel.
Bus vandalized near Penhold School
Police are looking for suspects after unknown suspects vandalized a school bus parked in a fenced area near Penhold School.
According to Innisfail RCMP, the suspects damaged the bus after getting access to the fenced area of the school, located at 1500 Fleming Avenue sometime between 6 p.m. on June 9 and 6 a.m. on June 10.

Glennifer Lake Resort vandalized
Innisfail RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance in finding the culprits who broke into the facility last week and causing damage by driving a golf cart through the property.
Police said a break and enter occurred between 12:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. on June 16. Suspects gained entry by breaking through a side window.
Police said unknown suspects stole about 75 packages of cigarettes with a value of $1,150.
The suspects also removed a golf cart from a resort residence’s parking pad and drove it through adjoining property, causing damage to walkways and a residence’s decking structure. The cart was driven to the edge of Glennifer Lake before being abandoned.

Meanwhile, Innisfail RCMP and the town’s fire department were called out to the lake Sunday afternoon to help two people whose boat capsized.
Innisfail Fire Department Chief John Syroid said the call came in at 5:15 p.m. and six fire and rescue personnel were dispatched to the lake’s south boat launch. He said the pair were rescued and brought safely to shore.
