Innisfail RCMP’s 2023 Charity Checkstop results released

INNISFAIL – In five hours on Saturday, Innisfail RCMP’s Charity Checkstop raised more than $14,000 and collected truck loads of toys, food clothing for local charities.

Between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Dec. 2, RCMP officers, partner agencies, and volunteers set up by the Innisfail Royal Canadian Legion Branch #104 on 50th Street between 48th and 49th avenues for the 27th iteration of the event.

“In this season of giving and celebrating we are proud to provide as much help as we can to those less fortunate,” Innisfail RCMP Staff Sgt. Ian Ihme said Tuesday when announcing how much was raised.

A total of $14,065.70 in cash and cheques was collected. Additionally about three truck loads of high quality toys and new clothing items were collected for the Innisfail Christmas Bureau and 595 pounds of food was donated for the local food bank.

The charitable organizations that these items will be donated to are the Innisfail & District Food Bank, the Innisfail Christmas Bureau, the Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre and the Youth Positive Assets Coalition.
