INNISFAIL - Members of the Innisfail U13B Flyers were all smiles following their shootout victory in the U13B Flyers Chill Cup Tournament final on Jan. 12 at the Innisfail Twin Arena.
The Flyers were down 5-2 to the rival Olds Grizzlys heading into the third, but rallied with three goals in the third period to tie the game and force a 4-on-4 five-minute overtime period, and then an additional 3-on-3 five-minute overtime.
When those ended without a winner, the two teams went into a sudden death shootout.
After Innisfail's Kasen McLeod scored to start the fifth round of the shootout to give the Flyers the edge, Flyers goaltender Matthew Teskey made one last save to preserve the victory.
