Innisfail woman faces fraud, theft charges

A 38-year-old Innisfail woman has been charged with several counts of fraud and theft following an investigation by the Red Deer RCMP. Police allege that the suspect stole more than $54,000 from her employer between September 2015 and 2017.

A 38-year-old Innisfail woman has been charged with several counts of fraud and theft following an investigation by the Red Deer RCMP.

Police allege that the suspect stole more than $54,000 from her employer between September 2015 and 2017.

The Red Deer RCMP Financial Crime Unit recently completed an investigation, and uncovered the fraud, according to a press release issued Monday, July 15.

It is alleged that the woman, while serving as the executive director of a local member association, misused the funds of the organization for personal use.

Pamela Bernard has been charged with 11 Criminal Code charges including:

• three counts of fraud exceeding $5,000 (x3)

• two counts of fraud under $5,000

• two counts of theft under $5,000

• two counts of theft over $5,000

• Falsification of books/documents

Bernard’s first court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 2 in provincial court in Red Deer.
