An Innisfail man is facing 14 charges of possessing stolen property, which include valuable collections of historic hockey cards and comic books.

On Feb. 9, a search warrant was executed by the Innisfail RCMP at a local property and when Mounties checked outside the residence they discovered property belonging to a victim of a residential break and enter in Lacombe County.

The following day another search warrant was executed by local police and Blackfalds RCMP at the same Innisfail residence.

RCMP said a search inside yielded additional items of sentimental and historical value, including the comic book and hockey card collections - linked to the same break and enter in Lacombe County. Police added several items related to a break and enter at a residence in Innisfail were recovered.

Innisfail RCMP Cpl. Don Morrish said the hockey care collection has been returned to the owner but Mounties are still looking for the owner of the recovered comic books.

Mark Allen Woodcock, 37, of Innisfail, has been charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime with a value over $5,000, and 13 charges of possession of property obtained by crime with a value under $5,000.

Woodcock is also facing four unrelated charges arising from a Jan. 24 arrest in Red Deer. He is facing one charge of possessing proceeds from crime, two counts of possession of stolen property and one charge of possessing a concealed weapon.

On the Innisfail-related charges, Woodcock, who is in custody, has made Red Deer provincial court appearances on Feb. 12 and 19. He is returning to Red Deer court on Feb. 23 to face all charges.

If any citizen has any information in relation to these alleged crimes he or she is asked to contact the Blackfalds RCMP at 403-885-3300, or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS),
