INNISFAIL - The Innisfail Library/Learning Centre wants to hear from you and know what you want in a library.

The library is holding a two-hour community feedback tea on programming and to introduce new library staff on Nov. 26 from 10 a.m. to noon.

“People can drop in and enjoy a cup of tea. There'll be places to sit and visit with people and ask questions,” said Sara Kepper, the library's new manager.

“We're having all of the staff on hand (for the event). That includes our two programmers, everybody who works here and me,” she added. “This is their library. We want to know what people want to see in programming (and other areas).”

Kepper said they would like to gather plenty of feedback from members of the public and that includes what patrons like, what they want to see in programming, what the library is doing well and what they would like to see improved.

This is the first community feedback tea for the library, she confirmed.

“We're having tea, coffee, cookies and we're even having scones,” she said, noting the relaxed atmosphere is a great way to gather feedback from patrons and community members.

“We have a new program team,” added Kepper. “We have new management, we're revamping things and changing things around here, so we didn't want to change things up and do something that the public doesn't want.”

“We want feedback and want to know what we can do better, but we also want the public to check out our new programs that we have,” said Kepper, noting an example of Spanish storytime and other family-oriented programs offered at the library.

“We hope it's not our last community feedback tea,” said Kepper. “We would like to get regular input at least once a year.”
